Pencil Thief
Part One

Kicking my two feet as I continued to scribble down notes on the notebook paper in front of me, I kept my eyes from glancing upward. Suddenly, I felt something touch my foot lightly, forcing me to finally look up. I meant his eyes, before he turned away and tried to look innocent.

"I know that was you. It couldn't be anyone else," I said with an exhausted sigh.

"What are you talking about?" He mumbled quietly as he continued to write down a few sentences that the teacher said.

I rolled my eyes and continued to write.

"Hey," I heard a rushed voice call me. I looked up and he was once again looking innocently away from me. I sighed.

"You're the only person here, I already know that it's you," I repeated myself.

"I don't know what you're talking about," He said once again. He was annoying, but annoying in the cute kind of way. A blush crept up onto my cheeks, and I bowed my head lower to hide it for the time being.

"Crap," He hissed as his lead snapped in half. I laughed lightly as he pressed over and over again on the button but no lead came out. "Hey, could I borrow a pencil?" He asked me.

"Sure," I threw one of my lead pencils at him, nailing him in the chest. He glared at me before he bent over to pick it up. Finally, I turned my attention back to the teacher and decided to become that good student that I always was. Even with him distracting me...whether or not he knew it.

With occasional glances forward at the boy in front of me, I tried to focus on my teacher, but listening to her rant on and on about cells, the most basic unit of life and how they work wasn't exactly interesting. This class was mostly boring...

Finally, the bell rang, signalling us to get the heck out of class for our little 10 minute break.

"I'm going to steal your pencil," He said as he stood up and began to leave the classroom.

"Eh? Pencil thief! Come back here!" I called him as I threw my notebook into my backpack and zipped it up. I pushed in my chair and began to follow after but he was already down the stairs by the time I had reached the top of the stairs. I sighed.

I'll just get the pencil back tomorrow.
